Public Works Foreman

The Northern Village of Air Ronge is inviting applications for a full-time, permanent Public Works Foreman to join our Municipal operations team.
This position reports to the Chief Administration Officer (CAO) and is responsible for organizing and directing all public works and infrastructure-related functions, including maintenance and operations management planning, scheduling, procurement, supervision, and reporting. This position is responsible for directing the maintenance and operations of all equipment and facilities, hydrants, lift stations and related utility infrastructure, parks and rinks, roadways, drainage, refuse collection, and signage in the Village. The Foreman establishes and maintains an occupational health and safety program and ensures that all Workplace Safety and Health standards are followed by staff and contractors. The Foreman may respond to emergency situations and be required to be on call on a rotational basis, including evenings and weekends.
The Public Works Foreman is offered an annual salary range of $77,350 to $91,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications. The Village of Air Ronge offers a competitive benefits package including pension, and professional development opportunities.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or equivalent education and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in a municipal public works setting.
- Certification in water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment and wastewater collection would be an asset.
- A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License. A Class 1 drivers license and/or Air Endorsement (A) would be an asset.
- Prior experience and knowledge of maintenance and operation of heavy equipment typical of a Public Works department. A practical knowledge of the operation, care, and maintenance of small tools/equipment.
- Knowledge of current legislation and safe work practices, including workplace health and safety, employment standards, water and wastewater systems, road construction, drainage systems, environment, etc.), as well as municipal budgeting and reporting practices.
- Must be able to work in a team environment; interact positively with supervisors, other staff, contractors, and the general public.

Public Works General Labourer

The Northern Village of Air Ronge is inviting applications for a full-time, permanent Public Works General Labourer to join our Municipal operations team.
This position reports to the Public Works Foreman and is responsible under direction from the Foreman to perform preventative and operational maintenance on hydrants, lift stations, roadways, culverts, signage, equipment, and facilities. This position operates various municipal equipment as required, may respond to emergency situations, and is required to be on call on a rotational basis, including evenings and weekends.
The Public Works General Labourer is offered a salary range of $29.53 to $32.81 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications. The Village of Air Ronge offers a competitive benefits package including pension, and professional development opportunities.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License. A Class 1 drivers license and/or Air Endorsement (A) would be an asset.
- Knowledge of basic care and maintenance of vehicles and equipment would be an asset.
- A practical knowledge of the operation, care, and maintenance of small tools/equipment, and safe work practices under Occupational Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of the municipality, including the road systems, would be considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, physically fit, energetic, and self-motivated individual.
- Able to work unsupervised and outdoors in varying conditions.
- Professionalism with others, punctuality and reliability.
